What is Picquerism?
Picquerism (also spelled "piquerism", or even "picarism" in the American fashion) is a sexual fetish or paraphilia involving the sadistic urge to prick another person with a pin, needle, pen, pencil, or other sharper and more dangerous objects. This form of sadism is often highly sexualized and the target of the poking or stabbing is often specific to the breasts, bottom, or genital area.
As is true of any sadistic fetish, most practicioners limit their picquerism activities to consensual BDSM play (needle play or knife play) as part of mutually-enjoyable BDSM sex with a willing, masochistic or submissive partner.
However, criminal piquerists certainly are known to history. A certain sort of pervert was known in the Victorian era to stalk the streets of London, pricking unsuspecting women in their buttocks with long hat pins for the pleasure of their reactions. And, indeed, various bloody serial killers who seemed to derive sexual gratification from their stabbing murders are believed to have suffered from piquerism in its most extreme form.
